It’s beautiful and sunny and wonderful outside! Perfect weather to play outside and even more perfect to make some SUN TEA!
Have you ever had Sun Tea before? Well, it’s exactly what it sounds like, tea that is not made on the stove top, but is cooked with the heat of the sun.
Today I made mint and basil tea. It was delicious! And I did it while having 4 children under 2 running around my back yard. Yikes! There was a lot of “No touch, please.” But the truth is, I felt better cooking outside, with so many babies running around, in the heat of the sun, than I did on the stove…where more spills tend to happen.
So, without further adieu, get out your tea pitcher and let’s get SUN-Cookin!
What you need:
- 3 tea bags
- 4-6 cups of water
- 1/2-1 cup herbs… try out some fun pairings (basil, rosemary, mint, hibiscus, chamomile, and more!)
- Pitcher (cleaned with soap and hot water)
- A sunny day! 🙂
Directions:
- Rinse your herbs and clean your tea pitcher
- Put tea bags, herbs and 4-6 cups of purified water in pitcher. Set in the sun for 1-4 hours, but no longer.
- Refrigerate when done and sweeten with sugar, honey or stevia as needed!
Enjoy! I wish you many sunny days to make this!
I’m gonna get back to my 4 busy friends…
